Estimator

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Analyze plans, specifications, and tender documents to evaluate construction costs.
  • Perform quantity take-offs and estimate the required materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Solicit and analyze bids from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure the best pricing and quality conditions.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and ensure their accuracy in line with market conditions.
  • Identify and assess potential project risks and propose appropriate solutions.
  • Participate in contract negotiations in collaboration with the project management team.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and cost fluctuations in the construction sector.
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure a smooth transition between estimation and project execution.
  • Understand the various contractual models in the industry (ump sum, construction management, cost-plus, turnkey, design-build, etc.) and adapt estimating strategies accordingly.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or DEC in Civil Engineering, Architecture or related construction field.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in estimating within the commercial, industrial, or pharmaceutical construction sectors.
  • Knowledge of different industry contract types (lump sum, construction management, cost-plus, etc.).
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office, Bluebeam, Autodesk Build, and estimating software.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications with accuracy.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
